- Biography/History:
- Schuyler Van Rensselaer Cammann obtained his A.B. from Yale in 1935, M.A. from Harvard in 1941 and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins in 1949. He served as instructor in English and European History in Changsha, China, from 1935 to 1937, and had special assignments in China from 1944 to 1945. He joined the faculty of Chinese studies of the University of Pennsylvania in 1948 and taught in the department of Oriental Studies until 1982.
