Biography/History:
Robert L. Trescher graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics in 1934 and from the Law School of the University with an L.L.B. in 1937. After graduation, he began his practice of law with the firm of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads in Philadelphia. He was a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and served as Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Vice Chairman of the Commission on Standards of Judicial Administration of the American Bar Association, and a Trustee of the University of Pennsylvania. He was honored with the title of L.L.D. in 1982.
Summary:
Trescher reviewed his experience as a student at the University of Pennsylvania and his service for the University as a lawyer after graduation. He discussed his relationship with University President Gaylord Harnwell, the controversy in the sixties over the way Harnwell handled the student unrest, his services for the Wistar Institute and for the Annenberg School for Communication, and his involvement as a University Trustee.
