- Biography/History:
- The Office of the Provost was established with the revised charter of 1755. The duties as outlined included teaching the philosophic branches and general oversight of the students. Originally the Provost operated as the head of the College. Presently the Provost serves under the President of the University and is concerned with all academic functions of the University. The Staff Conference is primarily responsible for reviewing faculty appointments and tenure issues.
