- The Pocket almanack alone was advertised in the Boston gazette, Nov. 16, 1778. In the Gazette for Dec. 14 the advertisement was augmented to read: "A Pocket almanack ... to which is added a register for the state of Massachusetts Bay." No advertisement appeared for the Register alone.
