New-York, October 8, 1777. : Early this morning Lieutenant Colonel Innes, inspector general of provincial forces, arrived from Fort Montgomery with the agreeable news, that, on the evening of the 6th instant, that fort, with Fort Clinton and its dependencies were taken by storm by His Majesty's troops ... A particular account of this glorious and important success will soon be published by authority, and printed by James Rivington, printer to the King's Most Excellent Majesty.
