- Letter addressed to Hugh Gaine, printer of the New York Mercury, concerning the quarrels between the proprietors of Pennsylvania and the General Assembly of that colony. Publication of the letter, dated "Philadelphia, November 1, 1755," was suppressed by its author following the defeat of General Braddock by the French to avoid further dispute, but was later determined necessary by provocations by which "all who cannot blindly approve what is dictated by party and passion, are become the butts of malice and resentment."
