Notes:
A collection of 725 hymns, without music, differing almost entirely from the book of anthems and choruses published under a similar title in 1754 (Evans 7147). Most of the hymns had been previously printed in the Franklin hymnbooks (1730-1736) and in the "Turteltaube." The first 441 are by Conrad Beissel. The preface is probably by Brother Jaebez (i.e., Johann Peter Miller). Cf. Seidensticker, O. German printing, and Sachse, Julius O. German sectarians of Pennsylvania, 1708-1800.
Title vignette: Seal of the brotherhood (Reilly 969).
Printed in two columns.
Comma substituted for virgule following "geistlicher" in title transcription.
Imprint printed in Roman type.
Microfiche. [New York : Readex Microprint, 1985] 11 x 15 cm. (Early American imprints. First series ; no. 10239).
