Notes:
Attributed by Evans to Benjamin West, but the actual calculator was Nathan Daboll. The eclipse predictions are an abbreviated version of those in his The New England almanac and gentlemen and ladies' diary for 1798 (New London, Conn.). The astronomical and horological notes on the calendar pages are selections of those in Daboll, with a few others added. The calculations for the moon are identical throughout. Those for the sun and tides and in a few of the notes vary because of the difference in meridian between the two almanacs.
