- Attributed by Evans to Benjamin West, but the actual calculator was Nathan Daboll. The eclipse predictions are somewhat abbreviated version of those in his The New England almanac and gentlemen and ladies' diary for 1797 (New London, Conn.). The astronomical and horological notes on the calendar pages are duplicated, except that a portion is omitted and a few others are added. The calculations for the moon are identical throughout. Those for the sun and tides and in a few of the notes, vary because of the difference in meridian between the two almanacs.
