Wardens Office. : Whereas by an act of the General Assembly, passed 20th September, 1783, and by one other act passed 22d January, 1774, in order to prevent infectious diseases being brought into this state, it is declared, that no commander, master, or other person, having charge of any ship, or vessel, bound to any port, or place, within this state, having on board any greater number of persons ... than forty .. shall bring his ship ... nearer to the city of Philadelphia, than the island, called Little Mud Island ...
