"Voted, that it is the opinion of this Committee [i.e., the Massachusetts Committee of Safety], that the recantations of these persons be accepted ..." The six were among the thirty-three Marblehead, Mass., residents who signed an address to Gov. Thomas Hutchinson which appeared in the May 31, 1774, issue of the Essex gazette.
