- Vol. XIII (Doctor Grimshaw's Secret ...' edited, with an introduction and notes by Julian Hawthorne (1889?) was published in 1883 but "was not identified as vol. XIII of the 'Riverside Edition' and the works were not advertised as available in 13 volumes until about 1889 following Houghton Mifflin's acquisition of the rights to the property. (The half-titles in all 'Riverside Edition' volumes were revised between 1889 and 1891 to designate works in thirteen volumes)."--Cf. Clark.
