- Hitchcock's note reads: Similar reports are to be found listed in the U.S. Government documents catalogue but apparently they were not issued as separate items.
- Hitchcock also refers to Walter in a note to his no.1282, the Annual reports of the U.S. Architect of the capitol, 1818-1895. Two reports were apparently issued "accompanying the Annual report of the Secretary of the interior" in 1864, but Walter's name does not appear on the item filmed under 1282 nor are the texts identical.
